We worked on Olympic, an opalfield which is known to produce very good quality opal but also has the reputation to "make or break" a miner. A friend of mine tunneled over 6 kilometres there without finding enough to keep him going or to pay expenses. Anyway, we spent 5 days working with explosives and a blower and did find a nice pocket! It was approx. 30 ounces of multicolour, red semicristal, the three biggest stones were valued at 8000A$ per ounce....overall value was approx. A$ 120`000 !
